Throughout the game's story, there are multiple characters who have no Persona power of their own but appear in the Metaverse in their copyright Thief forms and join the battles. These characters are cognitive manifestations created by Merope in accordance with the following conditions:

On his way home from school, Nagisa encounters a talking owl, Lufel. While listening to Lufel, a delivery biker attempts to ram into Nagisa, but Nagisa accidentally brings himself and Lufel to the Metaverse, a supernatural realm representing the unconscious desires of humanity.

As he boards the train, he notices the Metaverse Navigator appear on his phone and the owl from before begins speaking to him. As the protagonist taps the app on his phone, he enters the Metaverse and the owl introduces himself as Lufel. After a scuffle with Shadows, the protagonist awakens his persona and the two fight their way out of Mementos.

The footage was noted to feature the aesthetic and music reminiscent of Persona 5, but the ties to the Persona series were not officially confirmed.[7] The connection was later discovered through image filenames on the website and the binary code at the end of the trailer, which was translated to Persona 5X.[7]

The game’s combat has been simplified a fair bit. For starters, each character’s Persona (or Persona II) have only three skills available. This also applies to the personas the main character acquires. Each party member has two passive skills and Awareness. While One Mores, Baton Passes, Gun Attacks and All-out Attacks all return from the predecessor, they have also been simplified, (with the exception of Gun Attacks). Downing an enemy, rather than allowing a party member to freely act again with any of their available skills, grants the option of either using a single fixed skill—typically (but not always) an attack keyed to their element, or Baton Passing to let an ally do the same.

The method of character obtainment is via a gacha banner system. It is explained that characters obtained in this fashion are cognitive manifestations of the original individual taken from the Sea of Souls, and not the real person. As you obtain duplicates of a character, they will gain Awareness which improves the characters skills and abilities.

[6] It takes the form of a tunnel submerged in a sea, and it is occupied by Igor and his assistant, Merope. Igor cites Nagisa's knowledge of choice as his reason for bringing him to the Velvet Room. Nagisa wakes up in the classroom.

Currently, mission 3 is the longest main story mission content due to had two different major targets within one shared Palace.

While this game has the same social stat system as Persona 5, the stats can be raised to a much higher amount. Similarly, the game has Synergy Links, which function near identically to the Confidant system, only with more ranks, usually ranging from 15 to 20. Despite this, for most of the ranks only ten of them have events. There also are some non confidant characters that have side quests the protagonist can complete to get rewards.

There are current development plans to release in other regions such as North America with localization. This release is to be followed by console releases of the game as well, with PC and phones remaining the primary platforms.

Within the Metaverse, Mementos has been entirely overhauled, pelo longer being procedurally generated and has set regions. Aside from that, most of the Metaverse in general has seen little changes. Thieves Tool crafting is still present and the Palaces function identically to their Persona 5 Royal iterations. There is a mysterious park within the Metaverse that functions somewhat like the Thieves Den, having the ability to be customized.

After the brief introduction end, he returns to reality where the protagonist begins to fall victim to his desires being taken away. He's unable to convince the girls in the hallway to move, and later when a girl jumps from a building, he finds himself unable to call for help.

The gameplay isn't bad, but it's clear that they've decided to focus on finding more ways to get people to spend rather than creating an enjoyable experience. Especially when we have previous versions to compare to, the global version is way stingier, consistently giving less rewards and increasing prices.

To accommodate the format of a free-to-play game created primarily for mobile devices, Persona 5: The copyright X adapts the Persona mechanics with various changes.

It combines elements of social simulation, as the protagonist uses his free time to raise stats and forge bonds with characters, and dungeon crawling in the alternate world known as the Metaverse. The cognitive versions of the people met in the city, including the copyright Thieves of Hearts Persona 5 The copyright X from the original game, can be summoned for use in the Metaverse through a gacha system.
